Just a few words about how to structure your niche content site.
The basic question you may be confronted with when you start planning your Google Adsense site is this: should you use a “normal” hierarchical website structure (static index page with static linked pages), or should you do what everyone else seems to be doing nowadays: blogging!
I’ve tried both of these options, and free blogging software is the clear winner, for a number of reasons:
Ease of setting up a new site: if you have some content articles ready, you can have a new niche site up and running in a matter of hours. Just install the blog by following the easy instructions, and start adding your articles as “posts” – and Bob’s your uncle! How to make money blogging? Again, the easiest way is to join Adsense, Google’s free opportunity to make money on the internet.
Apart from ease of use a blog has a very important inbuilt functionality: RSS feeds which automatically “ping” various sites around the world to announce your new post or article the moment you press the “publish” button! The blogging and RSS feed combo gives a powerful presence on the internet, virtually overnight.
Inbuilt Google AdSense capability: If you use the right free blog structure (and I will get into specifics in a moment) your AdSense code will be built into the templates, and all you need to do is to enter your own publisher details.
Of course using a blog structure doesn’t necessarily mean you’re “blogging” in the sense of keeping a daily diary and running a discussion of what your life is about!
The way I use it for niche content sites is mainly because of the ease of use (very little time spent on coding a new site) and the “publishing” functionality which makes it much easier for your pages to be found and indexed by the search engines. For me it is a case of publish and prosper with blogging as your online business template.
So which free blogging site software am I using?
At the moment I’m using the free WordPress blog structure (download the latest version here), and one of the ProSense templates offered by doshdosh (check out this page), but you may want to browse around the many free WordPress templates offered on the Web to find one that suits your needs and tastes!
I’ll get into more detail about actually installing and setting up this particular blog elsewhere on this site, so keep your eyes peeled…!
