Yes, my first crash while learning to fly a collective pitch RC helicopter… In this ‘how to fly rc helicopter video’ you will see how not to fly a helicopter: my ESky Belt CP 450 V2 crashes after 42 seconds.
This is what happened: looking at the video you will see that I was obviously never in good control during this flight!
After trying for a while to stabilize the ESky Belt CP 450 V2 things started getting out of hand and I wanted to put her down before getting into the bush in front of the heli.
So I flew her down too fast, while at the same time instinctively pulling back on the cyclic because of the upcoming obstacle. The rear-tilting rotor hit the tail boom which was bouncing back up from the hard landing. Then the heli swung 180 degrees and landed against the bush.
The reflex of pulling back on the cyclic was probably the worst part here, otherwise it might just have bounced and settled without the boom strike…
